When working with daily deals sites, businesses share their profit with them, even after they have applied a heavy discount to make the offer attractive. The deal sites hold on to the money until the offer is redeemed, causing cash flow issues. Also, the business is only displayed on the deal site when the offer is live, when it’s over it’s like they were never there!!
When a customer takes up a promotion from a daily deal site, often businesses have no system in place to promote future patronage, so the customer doesn’t return. Another issue is that the business only gets paid for the offers that are redeemed, so if a thousand people buy the offer and twenty people redeem it, they only get paid on the twenty.
